Programme finalized for 12th Annual ESIL Conference in Riga

The organizers of the 12th Annual Conference of the European Society of International Law (ESIL) are pleased to announce the final conference programme.

Comments Ineta Ziemele, Professor of Riga Graduate School of Law and Judge of the Latvian Constitutional Court: “Preparations for the ESIL 2016 conference are entering a new stage. The final programme is now available and I am delighted that the ESIL conference in Riga will bring together senior European international law scholars, who will discuss a topic that is important for the whole of Europe.”

The programme includes judges from international and European courts, in particular Judge James Crawford of the International Court of Justice, Judge Danute Jočiene of the Lithuanian Constitutional Court and Judge Egils Levits of the European Court of Justice, together with academics from leading universities

France’s Council of State Vice-President, Jean-Marc Sauvé, will deliver a keynote speech to mark the conference closing.

The conference will also include a panel of foreign affairs ministers “The Relevance of International Law in Crisis Situations” hosted by Edgars Rinkevičs, Latvian Minister of Foreign Affairs.
